OKX Card (OKX Card) is a card linked to OKX Pay that uses supported assets to pay merchants. Signing up for an exchange account or completing identity verification does not automatically make you eligible to receive a card. Based solely on publicly available official materials reviewed on October 18, 2026, we could not confirm whether residents of Korea can obtain one. Do not treat launch news or user reviews from other countries as evidence that Korean accounts can apply.
This article explains the card’s structure, how to read region-specific terms, and the steps for checking fees and payment errors. It is not a firsthand account of issuing or using the card, and does not encourage signing up, depositing funds, or applying for a card. Compiled and reviewed by: AKEYX · Official sources checked on: 2026-10-18 (KST). The image below is an illustrative diagram created for explanatory purposes, not an actual OKX screen.AKEYX
1. OKX Card, Pay, exchange, and Web3 wallets are different
A card is a way to pay merchants, while Pay is a payment feature linked to the card. They differ in purpose and applicable terms from an exchange trading account or a Web3 wallet managed by an individual. In particular, using an existing bank card to buy crypto assets and OKXusing a card to pay for goods involve opposite directions of fund movement.
| Category | Role distinguished in this article |
|---|---|
| Exchange account | An account for trading supported products. This does not mean that all assets held are available to fund card payments. |
| OKX Pay | A feature linked to card payments. Supported assets and eligibility must be checked by region. |
| OKX Card | A payment method subject to separate eligibility requirements and terms. Exchange registration and card approval are distinct. |
| Web3 wallet | A wallet for managing on-chain assets and signatures. Creating a wallet does not issue a card. |
The European program description explains that USDC and USDG in Pay are converted to euros at the time of payment, while merchants receive fiat currency. This describes that program; it does not mean that supported assets or payment currencies are the same in every country. The distinction is based on OKX European card structure and availability information (updated 2026-08-18).

Differences in custody and recovery methods are covered separately in Differences between exchange accounts and Web3 wallets.
2. How can I check whether the card is available in Korea?
This does not establish that cards are available in Korea. Official general guidance says the card is available only in certain regions and advises existing users to check whether a Card section appears in the app. According to that guidance, if the card menu is absent, the card is not yet supported in that region. Even if the menu is visible, this does not guarantee final approval or availability of every feature.
Check in this order: ① whether the program applies to your actual country of residence, ② whether the card feature is available for your account, and ③ whether you meet the issuer’s identity and address verification and terms requirements. You cannot determine every case based on nationality alone, or assume that having a foreign residence permit guarantees approval. Check the application screen and official customer support for the required document types and validity periods.
If you do not have an account, check the publicly available eligibility conditions and local considerations first, rather than signing up or sending funds just to see whether the menu is available. We do not explain how to bypass restrictions by installing an APK separately to check card availability or by using a VPN, false address, or someone else’s documents. We refer to the menu-checking and address-matching principles described in OKX General card information (updated 2026-09-11).

3. How to read conditions in other regions and news about physical cards
Being able to use a card at merchants overseas is different from being eligible to obtain one as a resident of that country. You must distinguish between locations where the global payment network is accepted, regions where card applications are available, mobile wallet support, and cash withdrawal support. The European guidance applies to the EU and Norway, excluding Iceland and Liechtenstein. Do not add Korea to this list on your own.
The date also matters for information about physical cards. The general guidance dated September 11 still says that only virtual cards are available, but the September 25 physical card notice describes a phased rollout by region. Even if you are eligible for a virtual card, there may be no option to order a physical card, and costs vary by shipping method and address. Check whether an order option for a physical card actually appears in your account.
The ATM information (updated 2026-09-25) assumes a physical card and region-specific support. Do not assume that you can withdraw cash from an ATM with a virtual card; check ATM availability, fees, and limits for your account separately.

4. If the Card menu is missing, check before depositing funds
Do not assume that the app is malfunctioning just because the menu is missing. First check whether cards are available in your current region and review the information for your account. Existing users can check whether they have the app from an official distribution channel and whether their account requires additional verification, or contact official customer support. Specific menu locations and dot-shaped icons can vary by version, so we have not presented a fixed navigation path.
- Read the publicly available card conditions by region and distinguish them from those for your actual country of residence.
- Check the Card and Pay information in your existing account and confirm that the app was obtained from an official distribution channel. Do not try to overcome regional restrictions by reinstalling the app.
- Ask official customer support: “Is the card available for this account and country of residence, and what verification steps are required?”
- If the answer is unclear, do not send funds or create a new account on the assumption that you will be issued a card.
Authenticity checks and installation errors are distinguished based on OKX the official distribution channels and authenticity verification guidance for the app. That article does not guarantee card issuance or app availability in Korea. Do not send passwords, one-time verification codes, or wallet recovery phrases to customer support.

5. Even if card fees are zero, consider total costs separately
To assess total costs, separate the card’s own fees from the costs of obtaining the assets used for payment. The asset purchase price, transfer costs, payment currency exchange rate, and conversion spread are distinct items. They are not all charged every time, but a listed card fee alone does not prove that all other costs are zero.
| Item to check | Materials to compare |
|---|---|
| Issuance, maintenance, and physical card delivery | Card terms and order screen for your region. Do not mistake virtual card costs for shipping fees. |
| Payment currency and exchange rate | Settlement currency, such as EUR; merchant billing currency; and the exchange rate applied by the payment network. |
| Asset conversion | Conversion spread between supported stablecoins and fiat currency, and actual deductions. |
| Obtaining and transferring assets | Purchase and sale costs, price differences, and the network or withdrawal costs and restrictions for the relevant transfer. |

Example for checking the European EUR settlement program: The official fee schedule (updated 2026-09-11) lists a 0.1% conversion spread for USDC and USDG to EUR, 0% EUR and non-EUR FX fees for OKX, and €0 for virtual card issuance, monthly/annual fees, and inactivity fees. Mastercard exchange rates apply to non-EUR payments. These are not rates for Korean accounts, nor does the schedule include all costs for physical card delivery, ATMs, or obtaining assets.
AKEYX Hypothetical calculation: Simply multiplying a payment of 100 EUR by a cost rate of 0.1% gives 100 × 0.001 = 0.10 EUR. This is an example to illustrate the scale of the cost; it does not reproduce the actual stablecoin deduction or final billed amount. It excludes the applicable exchange rate, sale price, rounding, and other costs, and does not multiply 0.1% by 0.1. Compare the settlement currency and method applied to your actual transactions against the terms.

6. Eligibility, period, and limits matter more than the cashback rate
The assets eligible for payment may differ from those eligible for cashback. The EEA cashback asset FAQ (updated 2026-10-06) explains that the program supports payments in USDC and USDG, but cashback applies only to eligible USDG payments. Using USDG does not guarantee rewards on every payment.
Check the eligible users and tier, eligible assets and merchant categories, promotional period and participation conditions, monthly cap, and how settlement and refunds are handled. The actual payout may be less than the cashback rate multiplied by the total monthly spend. The basic calculation is eligible payment amount × the applicable rate, followed by application of the remaining cap and exclusions. Check the latest terms displayed for your region and account for the current rate and monthly cap.
Exchange trading fee rebates and referral codes are different from card payment cashback. Existing codes or signup links on a website do not guarantee card eligibility or cashback. There is also no reason to increase unnecessary spending to earn cashback.

7. Distinguishing failed payments, pending authorization, and refunds
Even if you have a balance, a payment may be declined because of spending limits, merchant-category restrictions, or approval status. Check the card’s funding source, whether the card is locked, and any error message from the merchant, and do not repeatedly retry the payment without knowing the cause. An amount awaiting approval and a final captured amount may appear together, so do not assume you were charged twice based only on two lines on the screen.
Limits FAQ (updated 2026-08-26) explains per-transaction and daily limits, regional maximums, and how to check Card management → Spending limits. The daily limit described there resets at 00:00 UTC (09:00 Korea time), and should not be confused with the ATM’s 24-hour limit. Nor does a standard refund necessarily restore your daily spending limit immediately.
| Status | What to check and do next |
|---|---|
| Pending approval or canceled | Compare the transaction status with the merchant’s records to determine whether it is pending or canceled before final capture. |
| Refund after payment completed | Keep the merchant’s refund confirmation and the app’s final updated status. |
| Unauthorized or incorrect charge | Prepare the receipt, date, amount, currency, merchant, and conversation records, then contact official support. |
Refunds, Cancellations, and Disputes FAQ (updated 2026-08-26) states that processing times depend on the merchant and payment provider, and that a refund may take up to 30 days. This does not mean every refund has the same processing time. Due to non-EUR exchange rates, partial refunds, or preauthorization adjustments, you may not receive the same quantity of stablecoins that was initially deducted.

8. Prepare separately for card locking and account security
If your card number is exposed or you see a payment you did not authorize, first check whether the app supports locking the card and find the official contact channel. Physical Card FAQ also explains that if your card is lost, you should lock it immediately in the app and request a replacement. Locking a card does not automatically cancel payments already completed or reimburse you for all losses.
Do not save card details on shared devices, and protect your payment and account notifications and authentication methods. Do not comply if someone impersonating support staff asks for your OTP, recovery phrase, or remote access. Managing payment assets separately does not eliminate the risks of stablecoin depegging, service interruptions, or the issuer’s and custody structure’s risks. Do not assume that stablecoins are risk-free or protected in the same way as ordinary bank deposits.

9. In Korea, check overseas card eligibility and domestic regulations separately
The fact that an overseas card program is offered in a particular market does not prove that it has registered to operate in Korea or that it protects users in Korea. A press release from the Financial Services Commission and the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit dated 2026-10-13 describes measures including blocking access in Korea to unregistered virtual asset service providers, restricting app installation and updates, and the difficulties of obtaining relief for user losses. The key point is to check the provider’s registration status against the FIU list.
The same material warns that facilitating sign-ups through referral codes or links may be considered assistance to unregistered business activity, rather than mere advertising. This article does not make a legal determination that use of a particular overseas card is lawful or unlawful for every individual in Korea, nor does it guarantee domestic registration or Korean card issuance by OKX. Do not infer domestic eligibility solely from a foreign license or a claim of access to a global payment network.
For tax, foreign exchange, and consumer protection issues specific to your circumstances, consult the relevant authorities and qualified professionals. We do not provide instructions for bypassing restrictions to access services or transfer funds. For a basic overview of how exchanges work, refer separately to OKXBasic Concepts and What to Check Before Using, and distinguish it from the card provider’s terms.
10. Checklist before deciding whether to apply
- Have you distinguished the fact that Korean issuance has not been verified from your actual place of residence?
- Have you checked the account, card issuer, and program terms, without relying on false information or circumventing regional restrictions?
- Have you checked supported assets, settlement currency, conversion costs, and shipping/ATM costs separately?
- Have you checked the cashback eligibility, period, cap, excluded payments, and terms that apply to refunds?
- Do you understand the differences between limits, pending approval, refunds, and disputes, and know how to lock the card and contact support?
- Have you checked domestic registration, access restrictions, and protection terms, and are you avoiding rushing to sign up or deposit funds while these remain unverified?

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Korea resident get a OKX card?
We could not verify this based solely on the official materials reviewed for this article. Do not interpret an overseas launch or the ability to sign up for an exchange as proof of eligibility for a Korean card. First check the terms for your region and the guidance from official customer support.
Is only a virtual card available? Can I withdraw cash from ATMs?
The latest official guidance, dated September 25, says physical cards are being rolled out by region. A physical card is not available to every virtual card user, and ATM use requires checking physical card availability, local support, fees, and limits.
Are all the coins on the exchange used for payments automatically?
Do not assume so. Check the assets and balance supported by Pay linked to the card, as well as the payment structure in your region. Distinguish these from your Web3 wallet or trading balance.
If the fee is 0%, does that mean there are no costs?
No. Check which specific fee the statement refers to. Consider the conversion spread in the official European fee table separately from the payment network’s exchange rate, the cost of acquiring or transferring assets, and any separate shipping or ATM terms.
Will a refund restore the limit and the same quantity of stablecoins?
Neither the same quantity nor immediate restoration of the limit is guaranteed. Cancellation of a pending authorization differs from a refund after a completed payment, and the result is affected by exchange rates, partial refunds, and merchant processing. Check the transaction status and the final credited amount.
Does entering an invitation code guarantee card issuance or cashback?
No. Linking a code to an exchange is separate from card eligibility and payment cashback. A code or sign-up link alone cannot guarantee Korean card issuance or any particular reward.
